Ingredients

2          cups (500 mL) all-purpose flour

¼         tsp (1 mL) baking soda

1          tbsp (15 mL) baking powder

1          tsp (5 mL) salt

6          tbsp (90 mL) grated butter

1          cups (250 mL) buttermilk

1          tbsp (15 mL) fresh chives, diced

Directions

Preheat oven to 450F/230C.

Grate the butter and cut into the flour until it resembles a coarse meal. If using a food processor, pulse a few times until the consistency is achieved. Add the buttermilk and chives and mix just until combined. If it appears on the dry side, add a bit more buttermilk. It should be very wet.

Turn the dough out onto a floured board. Gently pat (do not roll with a rolling pin) the dough out to about half an inch thick. Use a cutter to cut into rounds. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
