Q: Is Saltscapes still operating?

Yes, we are still operational with the exception of our office being closed to the public. We are diligently working on the next issue of Saltscapes magazine while taking renewals and new orders in our circulation department.

Q: Will I still receive my issue of Saltscapes?

Yes, the most recent edition of Saltscapes is in the mail as planned. COVID-19 has caused interrupted service with Canada Postal Services, our mail carrier, for the magazine. Q: Is it safe to receive a magazine through the mail?

From the World Health Organization: Yes. The likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, travelled, and exposed to different conditions and temperature is also low.

Q: How often is Saltscapes published?

Saltscapes is published 7 times per year. Six regular issues and an annual Food & Travel Guide. Also included in your subscription are the specialty publication - Good Taste.

Q: When does each issues come out?

The issues are scheduled to mail on the following dates (actual mailing dates may vary by a few days):
• February/March - Second week of February
• April/May - Second week of April
• Food & Travel Guide - mid-May
• June/July - Second week of June
• August/September - Second week of August
• October/November - Second week of October
• December/January Second week of December and a second mailing to Holiday Gifts and new subscribers late December

*Please note: Newsstand copies are generally available in-store before subscriber copies have been delivered.

Q: How long does it take to get my issue through the mail?

Good question! Here are Canada Post's delivery guidelines

Delivery standards are estimates of how long it will take your mail to be delivered. Delivery standards are not guaranteed by Canada Post but are generally:

Local (within Halifax regional Municipality)

3 business days

Within Nova Scotia

4-5 business days

Across Canada

4-13 business days

USA and international subscribers, yours takes longer to deliver - thank you for your patience.

HINT: Make sure we have your email address and we will send you the digital edition as part of your subscription. That way, you can begin reading while waiting for your print copy to arrive in the mail.

Q: Can I convert my print subscription to a digital subscription?

Yes! Send us an email and we will beam the remaining issues of your print subscription over to your phone/tablet/pad/computer thingy.

Q: Can I get a refund on my subscription?

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2021: Subscriptions are non-refundable. If a subscription needs to be cancelled, where applicable, credits can be applied to other Metro Guide Publishing titles (East Coast Living, Halifax Magazine or At Home on the North Shore). Please note that each circumstance is unique and election to make an offer in one instance does not create obligation to do so in another.
