When I came across the recipe for Pastitsio Pie (“7th Annual Recipe Contest Winners,” January/February) my first thought was yum and my second thought was what a small world: my mother graduated from Middleton High School with Linda Cummings. And on top of that I grew up living across the street from her Aunt Claire and Uncle Gordon. I was so excited and wanted to make the recipe even more! It was absolutely delicious and is a new family favourite.
 

I now live in Delaware with my husband and two girls and look forward to many more issues of Saltscapes being delivered to my home. Everyone in our family enjoys it. It also gives my two young daughters a small taste on a regular basis of why I am proud of my Atlantic Canadian heritage.
