More Fun With Fungus PDF  | Print |

June Gallant’s article about art on fungi (“An Unusual Canvas,” January/February) really tickled my memories. In the 1930s a booklet called Nature Activities came to rural schools, and one time it contained the idea of drawing on fungi. We always burned wood, so often we would find fungi in our woodpile. Our parents also helped us find them in the woods, and we became enchanted with the art. We often used a sharp stick; sometimes a pencil. The article brought back such lovely memories.
