Mapping Out Retirement Plans PDF  | Print |

My husband and I have been subscribing to Saltscapes for some time now. Along with National Geographic and Canadian Geographic magazines, it’s one of our favourites. We especially enjoy the articles about local communities—we’ve been using the magazine to add to our “places to visit when we retire” list. But I have a pet peeve: the lack of maps locating the places written about.

Coincidentally, there was an article in Canadian Geographic about the Lower North Shore the same time as when your story ran (January/February issue). However there was a map in Canadian Geographic, showing the area in relation to Newfoundland and Quebec—and with a zoomed-in section locating the various small communities.
If you included this kind of map I would find the articles on a particular place even more enjoyable, and be much more inclined to go there.
