I have to tell you how Saltscapes magazine keeps two Maritime hearts connected, Joanne Warren living in Springfield, Virginia, and me, her mother, Helen Hebert of Moncton.

My husband and I are originally from Nova Scotia but have lived in British Columbia for over 30 years. We have held on to my parents’ “little yellow cottage” in Chester Basin and try to get home to visit every summer.

In response to the article about Wentworth Valley’s beauty from the train (“A Train Runs Through It,” January February), I’ve experienced that. But better still, I’ve hiked along the rails to get a better look.
