Fall River artist, Sarah Jane Conklin is May Feature Artist at Arts Sales and Rental Gallery, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Second Nature is a series of new works of the Atlantic Canada landscape. Hiking off the beaten path, Sarah Jane discovers hidden gems where photos are taken of each location and interpreted in her studio. Colour and texture, allowing for different levels of viewer participation continue to be identifying features to her work. Motion and mystique are created through deliberate entanglements of brushstrokes, rich colour contrast, the chance effects of impasto, and the innate luminosity of oil paint. Sarah Jane is also featured in the 2012 CBC radio/Feed Nova Scotia Sharing the View Calendar. Sarah Jane will be in attendance at the Art Sales and Rental Gallery Sunday, May 13 at 1:00pm.
