[NEW 2017] - Barrelling Tide Distillery
Do your taste buds need to be refreshed? If so, you must stop by the Barrelling Tide Distillery booth to sample one (or more) of the several liqueurs or spirits handcrafted by Colleen and Russell Murphy. You might have a hard time deciding which one is your favourite.
Barrelling Tide harkens back to both the apple barrels used to ship fruit crops to other places, and of course the mighty tides of the Bay of Fundy, which push their way up many local rivers. Located beside such a tidal river in Port Williams, Barrelling Tide hit the market in June of last year and have proven to be one of the most popular products in the province ever since. Everything that goes into the products from grain to glass is produced locally. Russell grew up in the Valley and is happy to be part of a growing hub of activity in Port Williams.
If you’re cycling the many routes around Wolfville and Port Williams, you can stop by the shop and see and sample for yourself, (do check out their magnificent copper still!) then have a lunch at one of the neighbouring cafes and restos. Make a day of it!
