I would like to express my appreciation for your black bear article ("The Bear Facts," January/February 2007). You hit the nail on the head!!
If there's any animal in Canada (or North America for that matter) that has been misrepresented and has a totally inaccurate reputation (through human eyes) it's the black bear. Your article was perfect. I wish that more publications would represent these amazing animals in the light that they deserve. |

Jay Underwood's article "A Train Runs Through It" (January/February 2007) was for my family a very nostalgic journey on a route we have taken annually by car for more than a half-century. Even with the speedy Cobequid Pass we still swing off onto the old Wentworth Valley road and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this nostalgic journey through rural Nova Scotia. |
