I would like to express my appreciation for your black bear article ("The Bear Facts," January/February 2007). You hit the nail on the head!!

If there's any animal in Canada (or North America for that matter) that has been misrepresented and has a totally inaccurate reputation (through human eyes) it's the black bear. Your article was perfect. I wish that more publications would represent these amazing animals in the light that they deserve.

Jay Underwood's article "A Train Runs Through It" (January/February 2007) was for my family a very nostalgic journey on a route we have taken annually by car for more than a half-century. Even with the speedy Cobequid Pass we still swing off onto the old Wentworth Valley road and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this nostalgic journey through rural Nova Scotia.

Simply put, coming from a "down-the-roader" from 22 years ago, I can quickly and easily tell you that yes, "we" will most certainly come home, given half a chance ("A Change of Place," November/December 2006).
